      Brett Dean is a renowned Australian composer, violist, and conductor who has made a significant impact on the classical music scene. Born on October 23, 1961, Dean began his musical journey in his hometown of Brisbane before moving to Germany in 1984. There, he became a member of the prestigious Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, where he honed his skills as a violist for 14 years. Dean's transition to composition in midlife has led him to become one of Australia's most successful musical figures, known for his challenging and meaningful works that draw from his extensive orchestral experience.
