      About Yuuko Shiokawa

      Yuuko Shiokawa, born June 1, 1946, in Tokyo, Japan, is a renowned violinist who began her musical journey at the tender age of five. As one of the first generation of world-class instrumentalists to emerge from Japan post-World War II, Shiokawa has captivated audiences with her virtuosic performances. Her musical path took her from Tokyo to Lima, Peru, where she studied under the guidance of Eugen Cremer. Married to the esteemed pianist András Schiff, Shiokawa has graced the stage in numerous chamber music performances, showcasing her exceptional talent and artistry. Her collaborations with Schiff have been particularly noted for their intelligence and refined performances, making her a standout figure in the classical music world.
