      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of classical piano with Idil Biret's exquisite rendition of Brahms' Piano Sonata No. 3 and Schumann's Piano Sonata No. 2. Released on July 19, 1995, under the prestigious Naxos label, this album is a testament to Biret's virtuosity and deep musical insight.

The album opens with Brahms' Piano Sonata No. 3 in F Minor, Op. 5, a work known for its dramatic intensity and emotional depth. Biret's masterful interpretation brings out the nuances of each movement, from the powerful "Allegro maestoso" to the delicate "Andante espressivo" and the energetic "Scherzo." The sonata's final movement, "Finale. Allegro moderato ma rubato," is rendered with a sense of poignant resolution that leaves a lasting impression.

The second half of the album features Schumann's Piano Sonata No. 2 in G Minor, Op. 22. Biret's playing is both precise and expressive, capturing the essence of Schumann's romantic style.
