      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the timeless elegance of classical music with Alexandre Rabinovitch-Barakovsky's masterful rendition of Brahms' Piano Trios. Released in 1990 under the Novalis label, this album showcases two of Johannes Brahms' most celebrated works: the Piano Trio in B Major, Op. 8, and the Piano Trio in C Minor, Op. 66. Spanning a total of 71 minutes, this collection is a testament to Rabinovitch-Barakovsky's virtuosity and deep understanding of Brahms' intricate compositions.

The album opens with the Piano Trio in B Major, Op. 8, a piece that exudes warmth and lyricism. The first movement, Allegro, sets the stage with its lively and engaging melody, while the second movement, Andante, offers a moment of introspection and serenity. The Scherzo, with its playful and energetic rhythm, leads seamlessly into the final movement, Rondo, a triumphant and joyful conclusion.

The second half of the album features the Piano Trio in C Minor, Op. 66, a work that showcases Brahms' mastery of musical form and structure. The first movement, Allegro, begins with a sense of urgency and intensity, while the Scherzo provides a brief respite with its lighthearted and whimsical character. The Adagio, a deeply moving and expressive movement, sets the stage for the final Allegro, a powerful and exhilarating conclusion.

Alexandre Rabinovitch-Barakovsky's interpretation of these works is both sensitive and dynamic, bringing out the full range of emotions and nuances in Brahms' music. His collaboration with Martha Argerich, a renowned pianist in her own right, adds an extra layer of depth and richness to these performances. Whether you are a seasoned classical music enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, this album is sure to captivate and inspire.
