"Beyond Brooklyn" is a remarkable final recording by the legendary flautist Herbie Mann, released posthumously in 2004. This album captures a joyous reunion between Mann and alto saxophonist Phil Woods, more than 50 years after they first played together in Brooklyn, NYC. The collaboration is a testament to their enduring friendship and musical chemistry, offering a blend of genres including Latin jazz, bossa nova, soul jazz, and cool jazz.

The album features a stellar lineup of musicians, including Jay Ashby on trombone, Gil Goldstein on accordion, Alain Mallet on piano, Marty Ashby on guitar, Dwayne Dolphin and Paul Socelow on bass, and Roger Humphries on drums. With 12 tracks spanning over an hour, "Beyond Brooklyn" showcases Mann's lyrical flute work and Woods' expressive saxophone playing, creating a rich and diverse musical experience.
