      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the timeless masterpieces of classical music with Eugen Jochum's compelling album, featuring iconic symphonies by Beethoven, Mozart, and Bruckner. Released on April 1, 2011, under the Music and Arts Programs of America label, this album is a testament to Jochum's exceptional conducting and the enduring power of these compositions.

The album opens with Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, Op. 67, a work that needs no introduction. Jochum's interpretation brings out the drama and intensity of the famous opening four notes, guiding the listener through the symphony's emotional journey. Following Beethoven, Mozart's Symphony No. 33 in B-Flat Major, K. 319, showcases Jochum's versatility and deep understanding of the classical repertoire. The symphony's grace and elegance are beautifully captured in this performance.

The album concludes with Bruckner's Symphony No. 3 in D Minor, WAB 103, a monumental work that Jochum conducts with precision and passion. The 1890 version of the symphony, edited by T. Raettig, offers a unique perspective on Bruckner's evolving style.
