      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the timeless elegance of classical music with Carl Schuricht's captivating album, featuring two masterpieces by Ludwig van Beethoven and Johannes Brahms. Recorded and released on September 25, 2014, under the Ina, musique(s) label, this album showcases the profound artistry of Carl Schuricht, accompanied by the Orchestre national de France and the stellar pianist Claudio Arrau.

The album opens with Beethoven's powerful Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Minor, Op. 37. This concerto, a cornerstone of the piano repertoire, is performed with exquisite precision and passion. The three-movement work begins with a dramatic "Allegro con brio," followed by a serene "Largo," and concludes with a spirited "Rondo: Allegro." Each movement is a testament to Beethoven's genius and Arrau's virtuosity.

Following the Beethoven concerto, the album transitions seamlessly into Brahms' Symphony No. 4 in E Minor, Op. 98. This symphony, conducted by Carl Schuricht, is a tour de force of orchestral composition. The four-movement work begins with an "Allegro non troppo," followed by an "Andante moderato," a lively "Allegro giocoso," and concludes with an "Allegro energico e passionato." Schuricht's interpretation brings out the depth and richness of Brahms' score, making this a standout performance.

With a total duration of 1 hour and 37 minutes, this album is a comprehensive journey through two of the most significant works in the classical music canon. Whether you are a seasoned classical music enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, Carl Schuricht's masterful direction and the exceptional performances by the Orchestre national de France and Claudio Arrau make this album an essential addition to your music collection.
