      Album Details

Discover the timeless brilliance of classical piano music with Bracha Eden's captivating album, released on September 9, 1968, under Decca Music Group Ltd. This album is a stunning collaboration featuring Bracha Eden and Alexander Tamir on pianos, accompanied by James Holland and Tristan Fry on percussion. The album showcases two masterful works: Béla Bartók's Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion, Sz. 110, and Francis Poulenc's Sonata for Two Pianos. The Bartók sonata, with its three distinct movements—Assai lento, Lento, ma non troppo, and Allegro non troppo—exhibits a rich tapestry of modern classical composition, blending intricate rhythms and dynamic contrasts. Poulenc's sonata, comprising four movements—Prologue. Extrêmement lent et calme, Allegro molto, Andante lyrico, and Allegro giocoso—offers a lyrical and playful counterpoint to Bartók's intense and rhythmic style. Spanning a total duration of 45 minutes, this album is a testament to the virtuosity and artistic prowess of Bracha Eden and her collaborators. Whether you're a seasoned classical enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, this album promises an enriching and immersive listening experience.
