      About Robin de Raaff

      Robin de Raaff is a prominent Dutch composer and bassist, renowned for his significant contributions to orchestral and operatic music. Born in 1968, De Raaff has established himself as one of the leading figures in his generation, with a prolific body of work that includes five symphonies, eleven concertos, and two main-stage operas. His compositions are celebrated for their depth and innovation, with notable works such as the oratorio 'Atlantis' and the opera 'Waiting for Miss Monroe'. De Raaff's latest project is a cantata based on Stéphane Mallarmé's poem 'L'Azur', commissioned by the Lucerne Festival and the NTR-Zaterdagmatinee.
