      John Etheridge is a versatile English jazz fusion guitarist, composer, bandleader, and educator, renowned for his eclectic style and extensive collaborations across jazz, classical, and contemporary music. Born on January 12, 1948, in Lambeth, London, Etheridge is best known for his work with the legendary band Soft Machine, spanning from 1975 to 1978, 1984, and from 2004 to the present.
