      About Stephanie Blythe

      Stephanie Blythe is an acclaimed American mezzo-soprano who has captivated audiences worldwide with her powerful performances in opera and concert halls since the early 1990s. Born in 1970 in Mongaup Valley, New York, Blythe has become a staple at the Metropolitan Opera, where she has performed annually since her debut in 1995. Known for her versatility and depth, she starred in the world premiere of the opera "27" as Gertrude Stein, a role specifically commissioned for her. Beyond her stage presence, Blythe is also dedicated to nurturing young talent as the Artistic Director of the Graduate Vocal Arts Program at Bard College Conservatory. Her rich, resonant voice and commanding stage presence make her one of the most respected artists of her generation.
