      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Czech orchestral music with "Ančerl Gold Edition 28. Novák: In the Tatra Mountains - Slavický: Moravian Dance Fantasies, Rhapsodic Variations," a captivating collection of works by Klement Slavický and Vítězslav Novák. This album, released on September 29, 2023, under the esteemed SUPRAPHON a.s. label, showcases the brilliance of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of the legendary Karel Ančerl.

The album opens with Vítězslav Novák's "In the Tatra Mountains, Op. 26," a symphonic poem that paints a vivid musical landscape of the majestic Tatra Mountains. The piece is a testament to Novák's mastery of orchestration and his deep connection to the natural world.

Following this, Klement Slavický's "Moravian Dance Fantasies" takes center stage. This three-movement suite is a celebration of Slavický's unique voice, blending traditional Moravian folk elements with sophisticated orchestral techniques. The first movement, "Molto vivo," bursts with energy and rhythm, while the second, "Grave," offers a moment of introspective beauty. The final movement, "Vivo," brings the suite to a thrilling conclusion.

The album concludes with Slavický's "Rhapsodic Variations for Orchestra," a work that showcases the composer's virtuosity and the orchestra's technical prowess. This piece is a journey through a variety of musical moods and textures, culminating in a triumphant finale.

With a total duration of 1 hour and 7 minutes, this album is a comprehensive exploration of two significant Czech composers' orchestral works. Whether you're a seasoned classical music enthusiast or a curious newcomer, this album offers a rewarding listening experience. The meticulous performances by the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, coupled with the insightful conducting of Karel Ančerl, bring these works to life in a way that is both authentic and inspiring.
