American Road Trip - Augustin Hadelich

      Album Details

Augustin Hadelich's latest release, American Road Trip, is a captivating musical journey that showcases the violinist's technical mastery and expressive depth. Released on 23 August 2024 via Warner Classics, this 1 hour and 17-minute album is a treasure trove of American classical and chamber music.

Featuring a diverse range of compositions, from the romantic elegance of Beach's Romance for Violin and Piano to the jazzy flair of Perkinson's Louisiana Blues Strut, Hadelich's virtuosic playing brings each piece to life with remarkable nuance and passion. The album's tracklist is a veritable tour of American musical landscapes, with works by iconic composers such as Ives, Copland, and Bernstein, alongside lesser-known gems like Kroll's Banjo and Fiddle and Roumain's Filter.

Hadelich's interpretations of Ives' Violin Sonata No. 4 and Hartke's Netsuke are particularly noteworthy, demonstrating his ability to balance complexity and lyricism with ease. The album's latter half is marked by a series of vibrant and energetic pieces, including Forrester's Wild Fiddler's Rag and Adams' Road Movies, which showcase Hadelich's impressive technical range and musicality.

Throughout American Road Trip, Augustin Hadelich's playing is characterised by its warmth, intelligence, and emotional resonance, making this album a must-listen for fans of classical and chamber music. With its richly varied programme and outstanding performances, American Road Trip is a compelling addition to Hadelich's discography, and a testament to his status as one of the world's leading violinists.
