      About Hugo Alfvén

      Hugo Alfvén, born in Stockholm in 1872, was a multifaceted Swedish artist, renowned as a composer, conductor, violinist, and painter. His musical legacy is marked by a profound impact on Swedish classical music, with his "Swedish Rhapsody No. 1, Midsommarvaka" remaining one of the most beloved pieces of Swedish music. Alfvén's compositions, including five symphonies and three Swedish Rhapsodies, are characterized by their late Romantic style and virtuosic orchestral writing.
