      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of classical music with Franco Caracciolo's captivating album, "A. Scarlatti, Cimarosa & Paisiello: Concertos et ouvertures." This exquisite collection, released in 1955 under the BNF Collection label, showcases the timeless compositions of Alessandro Scarlatti, Domenico Cimarosa, and Giovanni Paisiello, masterfully arranged by Raymond Meylan, Alessandro Ceco, and Giuseppe Piccioli.

Franco Caracciolo, a renowned figure in the classical music scene, leads the Orchestra Alessandro Scarlatti through a series of concertos and overtures that highlight the elegance and sophistication of the Neapolitan School. The album opens with Scarlatti's Sinfonia di concerto grosso No. 5 in D Major, a dynamic and spirited piece that sets the tone for the rest of the collection. Caracciolo's interpretation brings out the intricate details and emotional depth of each movement, from the lively "Spiritoso e staccato" to the serene "Adagio."

The album also features Cimarosa's Concerto in Seven Parts No. 3 in F Major, a work that showcases the composer's mastery of form and harmony. Caracciolo's sensitive rendering of the "Allegro" and "Largo" movements reveals the subtle nuances and expressive power of Cimarosa's music. The Concerto for Two Flutes in G Major, arranged by Alessandro Ceco, adds a touch of grace and refinement to the collection, with its delicate interplay of flute and orchestra.

Paisiello's La modista raggiratrice "La cuffiara": Sinfonia, arranged by Giuseppe Piccioli, rounds out the album with a lively and engaging overture that captures the spirit of the Neapolitan opera. Caracciolo's dynamic and energetic performance brings the piece to life, showcasing the orchestra's virtuosity and the composer's inventive use of melody and rhythm.

With a total duration of 41 minutes, this album is a compact yet comprehensive exploration of the Neapolitan School's rich musical heritage. Franco Caracciolo's masterful interpretations and the Orchestra Alessandro Scarlatti's impeccable playing make this a collection that will delight both seasoned classical music enthusiasts and newcomers alike. Whether you're looking to expand your musical horizons or simply enjoy some of the finest classical compositions ever written, this album is sure to captivate and inspire.
